SIMPLE, HEARTWARMING MEALS

you know sometimes, you dont need to look for the most fanciful settings, fanciful names to find good, or rather, awesome (orgasmic) food.

take example, Serangoon Gardens Bakery and Confectionary located at Serangoon Garden Way FC stall 45.

this morning, being in a good mood, i decided to pop by for a swing to grab these tasty little treats.

what i really love about this stall is its simplicity. Do not be fooled by its unappealing signboard, unattractive name or its unappetizing display of its buns, because each day you miss out not trying these soft steaming buns, you are missing out on life.

Unlike breadtalk, or many other commercialized giants, this stall does not serve up bread with fanciful ingedients, or exotic mixes. What you get are the traditional,
curry buns
peanut bread
kaya bread
cream puffs
sausage buns
yam buns
cheese

simple and straightforward.

The stall opens till its buns sold out, which happens usually in the mid afternoon, so one has to be there early in the morn to catch some of those steamy little goodness, baked fresh out of the oven.

I dont know why i practice so much favoritism toward this stall, but there is just something about this plainness, simplicity, that when you realize its hidden brilliance, you become addicted. Honestly.

And the best part is that when you buy the bread, they do not put them in boxes unless you are buying more 5 buns. All else are dumped into the same plastic bag, served up unpretentiously to you without any presentation efforts. Because who cares.

I like this attitude.

I couldnt resist buying so many buns, i had a fair and enjoyable share of each of them for breakfast lunch and dinner today. :D
Thank God i stay at Serangoon.

I tried the buns before!!! they are tasty and simply gives you the childhood feeling where your parents buy you buns for breakfast or tea break!

Simply nostalgic...
